There was a point late in the first half that the Coyotes captured a 20-19 lead. After that nothing went right. The Bulldogs closed the half on a 11-0 run and never looked back.
The poor shooting continued for a second straight game for the Yotes. They shot 37% from the field and just 2-14 from the arc. Through two games that gives the Coyotes a 5-34 (14.7%) mark. The final score of 69-53 feels a lot closer than it was.
AJ Plitzuweit led the Coyotes with 14. Stanley Umude saw considerable defensive attention and struggled from the floor, going 3-14 for 10 points. The Yotes could certainly benefit from someone, anyone to get a hot hand to boost some confidence and add some energy to the squad overall. Their next chance at that comes Tuesday at Nebraska. It’s go time.
