Power Rankings going into Conference Play

Posted on December 28, 2020 By Todd Buckingham No Comments on Power Rankings going into Conference Play

No change in the power rankings with fewer games. Get ready though. As we get through the weekend in conference play, things will start to shake up.

1. South Dakota State: 108. (12) LW 1. South Dakota State continues to receive all the first-place votes as they have the entire season.

2. Oral Roberts: 91pts. LW 2. ORU and NDSU continue a heated battle for 2. The Golden Eagles find themselves there this week.

3. North Dakota State: 89pts. LW 3. NDSU dropping likely has more to do with the play of ORU and NDSU being idle this week.

4. South Dakota: 60pts. LW 4. Coyotes stay put this week after losing their only game against Drake.

5. North Dakota: 54pts. LW 5. Voters were not discouraged by UND’s tough back to back against Southern Illinois.

5. Omaha: 54pts. LW 6. Omaha moves up into a tie with UND. Voters seemed to remember the Mavericks close loss to Wyoming more than the blowout loss to Colorado.

7. Western Illinois: 35pts LW 7. Slowly the Leathernecks are gaining the confidence of the voters. Voters noticed the blowout win over Tennessee-Martin.

8. Kansas City: 30pts LW 8. Voters were not impressed with the Roos blowout wins in a double-header over Kansas Christian.

9. Denver: 18pts. LW 9. Denver unable to pull itself out of the bottom.
