Senior of the Week
Forward Will Carius Western Illinois
There’s been no shortage of excitement over the Leathernecks’ success to start the season. Carius is one of the key cogs in this success. The 5th or is it 6th, year forward is the leading scorer and team leader. Last week Carius averaged 19 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.3 assists.

Junior of the Week
Guard Max Abmas Oral Roberts
There will be argument that the Summit League Player of the Week did not win this award. There’s a valid argument there also. However one cannot argue the performance of Abmas. After a comparatively slow start to the season, Abmas wins the award for the second week in a row. The fact that Abmas averaged over 25 points per game isn’t the most surprising statistic. Abmas has had plenty of weeks with those scoring numbers, however, Abmas also averaged an impressive 5.3 assists.

Sophomore of the Week
Guard Baylor Scheierman South Dakota State
Scheierman did not have the greatest statistical week for him. So one would ask, how did he win this award? For a couple of reasons, a down statistical week for Scheierman is still better than a good week for many. Also if we’re being honest there were few good games by Summit League Sophomores this week. Scheierman averaged 10.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 4 assists this week.

Freshmen of the Week
Forward Andrew Morgan North Dakota State
There are a couple of forwards on the Bison roster that get more pub, but Morgan’s role continues to grow and he continues to progress. There were a lot of freshmen deserving of the award this week but Morgan gets the nod. Morgan averaged 12.3 points, 6 rebounds, and 1.3 assists this week

Defensive Player of the Week
Guard Mason Archambault South Dakota
If Summit League fans were asked who is leading the league in steals I am not sure many would guess correctly. Well, that player is Archambault. Not only does Archambault lead for the season, but he also had a heck of a week defensively. Archambault averaged 2.3 steals, 1.3 blocks and also made an impact on the offensive glass.
