We have a new team at the top for the first time this season. When asked voters cited the quantity of Division 1 wins and the fact that North Dakota State has looked the most comfortable on the court of any Summit League team
2. South Dakota State: 106 pts (6)
Last week 1
The Jacks have the same amount of first-place votes but lose the top spot to the Bison. Jacks have played a tough schedule which has led to a lack of wins. Voters felt the Bison passed the eye test a little better.
3. South Dakota: 96 pts (1)

The Coyotes make a big jump this week. Bolstered by their win over VMI in an MTE, and also like we said with the Bison they have multiple D1 wins and have passed the eye test according to voters
4. St. Thomas: 80 pts
Last week 3
The Tommies started the week with 2 losses so there was worry that they may drop farther than one spot in the power rankings. However, a win over previously unbeaten Portland State likely bolstered the opinion of the Tommies
5. Oral Roberts: 65 pts
Last week 4
Golden Eagles drop a spot after losing 2 games this week. One of those is a close loss to Texas A+M. Voters mentioned the talent for ORU is high but the results haven’t been there.
6. North Dakota: 58 pts
Last week 5
The Fighting Hawks were tied for 5th last week so a small drop this week. With a couple of wins this week, fighting Hawk fans may feel their team should have been rated higher
7. Omaha: 39 pts
Last week 7
Mavericks stay put in 7th this week. 2 losses this week along with a win over William and Mary. More than one voter mentioned the loss to Lindenwood as a reason to keep the Mavericks in the bottom 3.
8. Denver: 29 pts
Last week 8
Some of Denver’s ranking may be due to early season expectations. Two voters mentioned their win over Nicholls State as a reason they are going to keep an eye on the Pioneers, but two losses keep them in the 8 spot this week.
9. Kansas City: 25 pts
Last week 9
Kansas City’s schedule has made it tough for voters to gauge the Roos. They don’t have a Division 1 win which is why voters have kept them at 9. Yet their two Division 1 games were against high-quality opponents where they were significant underdogs.
