Posted on December 1, 2020December 1, 2020 By Todd Buckingham No Comments on Summit Men’s and Women’s Power Rankings

So with a week under their belts, our voters rank the Summit League Men’s and Women’s teams

Men’s Power Rankings

1. South Dakota State (1-2): 90 pts (10) 1st place votes. Despite a 1-2 record the Jacks played stiff competition and showed well. Voters still feel they are the Summits best.

2. North Dakota State(0-3): 72 pts, LW 2. Despite an 0-3 start against high major competition NDSU breaks out of a tie with ORU for 2nd.

3. Oral Roberts: 69 pts (1-1) 69pts, LW 2. ORU falls to 3 after a loss to Mizzou and a win over a non D1 opponent.

4. Omaha: 60pts (1-2) 60pts, LW 4. Omaha goes 1-2 against 3 Kenpom top 200. Voters keep them at 4.

5. Kansas City: 25 pts (2-1) 47pts, LW 7. Voters like what they saw in 2 non D1 wins and a loss to only D1 opponent.

6. North Dakota: 32 pts (0-1) 36pts, LW 6. UND stays put after losing on opening night in their only game so far.

7. Denver: 29 pts (1-0) 29pts, LW 8. DU moves into a tie for 7th after winning their only game against a non-D1 opponent.

7. South Dakota (0-2) 29 pts, LW 5. The biggest faller from the preseason ranks. USD falls to a tie for 7 after two tough losses.

9. Western Illinois (0-0) 18pts, LW 9. Not a surprise that the team who hasn’t played a game yet stays put in the power rankings.

Women’s Power rankings

1. South Dakota (0-2) 44pts (3) first-place votes. When your two losses are close losses to the #1 and #18 teams in the country. Staying atop the ranks isn’t shocking.

2. South Dakota State (2-0) 42pts (2) first-place votes. SDSU nab 2 first-place votes after 2-0 start including a win over #15 Iowa State.

3. Western Illinois (0-1) 28pts. Loss to Wisconsin by 7 in a lone outing.

4. Denver (1-0) 25pts. 16 pt win over Air Force to start the season.

5. North Dakota State (0-0) 23pts. NDSU yet to tip off their season with their first game being canceled.

6. Oral Roberts (0-2) 22pts. Lopsided losses to 14th ranked Arkansas and Oklahoma State to start the season. How long are they without injured Lippe?

7. North Dakota (0-1) 19pts. 8 pt loss to Marquette in their lone outing.

8. Kansas City (0-1) 17pts. Loss in their lone game against Bradley.

9. Omaha (1-1) 6pts. 2 pt win over Northern Colorado after loss to 15th ranked Iowa State.
