St Thomas
For the second straight week it is a St. Thomas forward winning senior of the week. This week the honor belongs to Brooks Allen. While the Tommies were unable to come away with a victory on the South Dakota road trip, Allen shined. Allen averaged 23.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1 assist for the week.

Junior of the Week
G Tommy Bruner
Denver
The highlight of Bruner’s week was making clutch shot after clutch shot in what so far is the Summit League game of the year, a triple overtime win against Kansas City, in which Bruner scored 29 points. For the week Bruner averaged 26.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 4 assists.

Sophomore of the Week
G JJ White

Coach Chris Crutchfield opened up his first Summit League action with a home victory over Denver and White was a huge factor in that victory. Even though White only played one game it was so impressive he is our sophomore of the week. In that victory White finished with 18 points, 8 assists, and 4 rebounds.

Freshmen of the Week
F Luke Jungers
Omaha
In a vote that came down to the final vote, Jungers edged out Kendall Blue of St. Thomas. Jungers has shown an ability to come off the bench and hit a barrage of outside shots and that is exactly what he did against Denver. Jungers hit 5 shots from behind the arc and finished with 20 points in the victory. Jungers also grabbed 3 rebounds.

Defensive Player of the Week
F Patrick Mwamba
Oral Roberts
The Golden Eagles have been looking for a defensive tone setter and I think they found their guy in Mwamba. We saw glimpses of it before the showdown with South Dakota State and then the Golden Eagles led on defense by Mwamba shut down the Jackrabbits. In that game Mwamba had 5 steals and a blocked shot leading the defensive effort.
