Skunberg wins the junior of the week award for the second time this season. The junior seems to have really found his shooting stroke as evidenced by an incredible seven made threes in a victory against Omaha. For the week Skunberg averaged 20 points, 6 rebounds, and .5 assists.

We hesitate to give these awards to players who played only one game, but Mayo’s impressive numbers got him the award. In the win against South Dakota Mayo scored 19 points and added 8 rebounds and 6 assists.

Injury allowed Ngandu to increase playing time and he sure took advantage. Ngandu made an instant impact for Kansas City and finished the week averaging 12 points, 17 rebounds, and 1 assist per game.

Defensive Player of the Week

If you have watched Nelson play previously, you may be surprised it’s his first defensive player of the week for Nelson. For his first week winning, Nelson put together a no-doubt defensive stat line. For the week Nelson averaged 3.5 blocks and 2.5 steals.
