1. South Dakota State: 87 pts (8)
Last week 1
The Jacks secured probably the best win in the Summit League this year on the road against Wichita State. So not surprising they stay on top in a tight race at the top. A couple of voters cited that win in their vote. Other voters said that the top 3 (meaning South Dakota State, North Dakota State, and Oral Roberts) all seem to be finding their rhythm.
2. North Dakota State: 75 pts (2)
Last week
The vote would likely have been even closer at the top if South Dakota State had not won over Wichita State. This is because the Bison had two nice wins over San Jose State and Portland this week and things seem to be coming together in Fargo.
3. Oral Roberts: 66 pts
Last week 4
The Golden Eagles keep slowly rising in the power rankings. A win over Tulsa and an overtime loss to Kansas State has voters encouraged about Oral Roberts.
4. St. Thomas: 52 pts
Last week 4
Three straight wins and 2 this week have the Tommies on the rise in the minds of voters. One of the better defensive teams in the Summit this year, and the offense is starting to pull out of its early season slump.
5. Denver: 51 pts
Last week 7
Denver’s only game this week was a close loss at 13th-ranked Colorado State. Despite the loss, Denver’s playing a top-25 team tough had the voters moving Denver up this week.
6. South Dakota: 45 pts
Last week: 6
Voters are still all over the board with the Coyotes. The Coyotes stay put while North Dakota Slips and Denver moves up. Coyote fans will likely argue that the win over Cal State Bakersfield should have moved them up the rankings, but they stay put for this week.
7. North Dakota: 39 pts
Last week: 3
The middle of the power rankings has been hotly contested all season, but it may not be a shock that the Fighting Hawks drop 4 spots as their losing streak hits 3. While all 3 games were against solid Kenpom opponents voters pointed out that the home losses are concerning.
8. Kansas City: 21 pts
Last week: 9
A win over Lindenwood on the road and the Roos move out of the bottom of the power rankings this week.
9. Omaha: 13 pts
Last week: 8
Mavericks with only one Division 1 win this season land at the bottom of the power rankings this week.
