Here are the latest power rankings from the voters of Reaching the Summit
1. South Dakota State: 96 pts (9)
Last week 1
The Jacks only game this week was against a non-division 1 opponent. So no reason for the voters to move the Jackrabbits in the rankings and they remain at 1.
2. North Dakota State: 86 pts (2)
Last week 2
Bison lost late in the week on the road at Illinois State. Not good news but voters still feel they are the second best team in the league.
3. Oral Roberts: 70 pts
Last week 3
Another team that did not have a good week but voters kept them in place. This likely has to do with Oral Roberts showing well in other games as well as some similar struggles by teams below them.
4. St. Thomas: 66 pts
Last week 4
After beating a non-division 1 opponent and a close loss to 7th ranked Marquette, St. Thomas may not have moved up in the rankings but they dramatically closed the gap with the top 3 and built the gap with the teams below them.
5. North Dakota: 50 pts
Last week: 7
The Fighting Hawks bolstered by the return of Tyree Ihenacho and an impressive win over Utah Tech has the voters excited about North Dakota. The leap frog South Dakota and Denver.
6. South Dakota: 48 pts
Last week: 6
In spite of getting beaten badly by UC Irvine the Coyotes stay put this week. Part of this might be because of the fact that Irvine is a very high quality team and it’s a one game sample size.
7. Denver: 44 pts
Last week: 5
A two game losing streak has the voters concerned for Denver. The glimmer of hope for Denver is that those two games are against two very high quality teams in Colorado State and BYU.
8. Kansas City: 18 pts
Last week: 8
Kansas City won against a non-division 1 opponent and lost to Bowling Green this week. Voters are going to need more of a positive sample size to move Kansas City up.
9. Omaha: 17 pts
Last week: 9
Mavericks picked up an impressive win against Stetson but remains at the bottom.
