Below are the Reaching the Summit Women’s Basketball Players of the Week for games played 12/05 – 12/11. Each week our fans select a senior, junior, sophomore, and freshman student-athlete that they thought deserved this weekly award. Enjoy!
SENIOR OF THE WEEK: Elizabeth Lutz, Western Illinois (@ENLutz14)
The senior from California, Missouri had a an impressive couple of games last week en route to her first fan-nominated Player of the Week honor. Against SIUE, she had a great effort on both ends of the floor, going off for 16 points, six rebounds (all defensive), six assists, three steals, and one block. She followed that performance with a 15 point, three rebound, eight assist, four steal and two block performance against Greenville on Saturday. Elizabeth averaged 15.5 ppg, 4.5 rpg, and 7.0 apg last week.

JUNIOR OF THE WEEK: Uju Ezeudu, Denver (@ShineUju)
For the third time in five weeks, Denver’s Uju Ezeudu has earned the fan’s vote as our Junior of the Week. Against Colorado Christian last Tuesday, Ezeudu added another well-rounded stat line, finishing with 14 points (6-6 FT), two rebounds, five assists, two steals, and two blocks. In a FOUR OVERTIME thriller against the Big East’s Butler Bulldogs, Uju finished with a team-high 23 points, 14 rebounds, eight assists, and four blocks. This was the ninth double-double of her career, the fifth straight game scoring double figures, as well as the 43rd time in her career she finished in double-digit scoring. Ezeudu averaged 18.5 ppg, 8 rpg, and 6.5 apg in two games last week.

SOPHOMORE OF THE WEEK: Jada Thorpe (@thorpe_jada)
Another student-athlete that has earned three of the first five Player of the Week nominees is Jada Thorpe of Western Illinois. On Tuesday, she set a new career-high of 27 points in 35 minutes of action. She also added five rebounds and three assists. Of note, Thorpe had 17 FT attempts, which is good for the fourth-highest in a game at WIU. In Saturday’s trouncing of Greenville, Thorpe had herself another well-rounded game. She finished with 16 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and a career-high seven steals. She averaged 21.5 ppg, 6 rpg, and 4 apg last week.

FRESHMEN OF THE WEEK: Trinity Moore, Oral Roberts
After her sister Tirzah won back-to-back Player of the Week honors, the fans thought they’d show some love to Trinity this week. She earned it after the week she had! Although she only had five points last Sunday against Science & Arts Oklahoma, it was her breakout performance against Central Christian on Friday that propelled her stats to the pleasure of the voters. She led the team with a career-high 18 points, three rebounds, and one assist in 16 minutes of action. Trinity averaged 11.5 ppg and 4 rpg in two games last week.
