Week 5 WBB Power Rankings

The league went 11-6 in games played from Sunday, December 5th through Saturday, December 11th. Check out our week 5 power rankings below! Any records and stats are from games played through December 11th.

 

1. South Dakota (70 points | 7 first-place votes) The Yotes defeated Bradley 62-39 on December 6th and Valparaiso 51-31 on December 10th. The Yotes have now won four games in a row. Last Week: 1

   2. Western Illinois (60 points). Western Illinois defeated SIUE 96-93 on December 7th and Greenville 105-56 on December 11th. The Leathernecks have won nine of their last 10 games. Last Week: 3

         3. South Dakota State (55 points) The Jackrabbits lost to Missouri State 52-55 on December 6th and Kansas State 73-79 on December 11th. SDSU has lost five of their last six games. Last Week 2

            4. Kansas City (53 points) The Roos defeated Baker (Kan.) 93-44 on December 8th in their lone game last week. Despite having the best record in the conference, they remain fourth in the fan’s rankings. Last Week: 4

      5.Denver (37 points) The Pioneers defeated Colorado Christian 89-62 on December 7th and Butler 100-94 in a four-overtime thriller on December 10th in a game that made the highlights on ESPN’s Sportscenter. Last Week: 6

         6. North Dakota State (33 points)  The Bison drop a spot this week despite a valiant effort against one of the top teams in the nation. NDSU lost their lone game last week to Arizona 47-59.  Last week: 5

   7. Oral Roberts (29 points) The Golden Eagles defeated USAO (Okla.) 73-26 on December 5th. It was the fewest total points allowed to an opponent in program history. They then scored over 100 points in a thrashing of Central Christian College (Kan.) 120-52 on December 10th. Last Week: 8

     8. North Dakota (23 points) The Fighting Hawks dropped their only contest this week, losing to Marquette 65-89 on December 11th. Last week: 7

     9. Omaha (18 points) Omaha had a busy week last week, playing three games. On December 5th, they defeated College of Saint Mary (Neb.) 87-57. They were defeated by Kansas State on December 8th 56-87. Finally, they defeated Northern Colorado 48-41 on December 11th.  Last week: 9

    10. St. Thomas (7 points) The Tommies lost the only game last week 57-67 to Idaho State.  Last week: 10
