Junior of the Week
Guard KJ Hunt Denver
Being in a stacked Junior class has its downfalls. I for one was quite surprised when I looked back and saw that this was Hunt’s first time winning the junior of the week award. It frankly is surprising given his overall numbers and some eye-popping performances by Hunt this season. This week Hunt had his own 30+ point performance in a win over North Dakota in which Denver needed every one of those points to come back from a large second-half deficit. For the week Hunt averaged 22.5 points, 5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists.

Sophomore of the Week
Guard/Forward Baylor Scheierman South Dakota State
With his 7th Sophomore of the Week award, we may need to consider renaming the award. Scheierman continues to put up balanced performances that guide the Jackrabbits to their so-far perfect conference record. This week Scheierman averaged 19.5 points, 9 rebounds, and 4.5 assists.

Freshmen of the Week
Forward Frankie Fidler Omaha
Back-to-back freshmen of the week awards for the surging Fidler. The highlight of Fidler’s week was the 37 point gem he put together against North Dakota. Which if I read the statistic correctly was the most by a division 1 true freshmen this season. Fidler continues to find his groove and make big things happen for the Mavericks. This week Fidler averaged 22 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2 assists.

Defensive Player of the Week
Guard Marvin Nesbitt Kansas City
The reigning Summit League player of the week. Deserves a shout-out on the defensive end for the second straight week. Not only did Nesbitt put up fantastic numbers on the offensive end he was a complete menace on the defensive end. During the week, Nesbitt had 7 blocks, 3 steals, and chipped in another 7 offensive rebounds.
